Pudu Robotics Introduces Pudu D7, Its First Embodied Intelligent Semi-Humanoid Robot

Pudu Robotics has introduced a semi-humanoid robot, marking a major advancement in its mission to develop innovative solutions for global business challenges.

The Pudu D7 is the company's first general embodied intelligent semi-humanoid robot.

Unveiled on Thursday, Pudu expects full commercialization of the robot by next year.

Felix Zhang, founder and CEO of Pudu Robotics, highlighted that the Pudu D7 reflects the company’s commitment to ongoing technological and product development. “With advanced mobility, adaptable operational capabilities, and embodied intelligence, this semi-humanoid robot is a significant milestone in our quest for diverse robotic solutions," Zhang said. "By developing a comprehensive ecosystem of specialized, semi-humanoid, and humanoid robots, we aim to shape the service robotics industry's future and offer exceptional value across various sectors.”

The company introduced the semi-humanoid robot concept in May as part of its strategic plan for the service robotics industry, targeting three types of robots: specialized robots for specific tasks, semi-humanoid robots for flexible applications, and humanoid robots for complex human interactions. The Pudu D7 blends advanced mobility and dexterity with a human-like upper body, robotic arms, and a fully omnidirectional chassis. It is designed for complex tasks in diverse settings, including industrial environments, representing "a key step toward adaptable robotic solutions for multiple industries."

The Pudu D7 stands 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 99 pounds. Its arm can extend two feet and offers 30 degrees of motion.

With a dexterous hand attachment, the robot can expand up to 50 degrees, and its bionic arms can lift 22 pounds. Battery-powered, it can work continuously for more than eight hours. Pudu noted that these features enable it to excel in operating elevators, transporting items, and sorting tasks.

The semi-humanoid robot employs a multi-layered intelligence system that combines data-driven embodied intelligence with advanced AI models. In addition to understanding and responding to complex situations, the robot continuously learns and improves its operations over time.
