SydeLabs Joins Protect AI to Strengthen Generative AI Security Solutions

Seattle-based AI security provider Protect AI is acquiring SydeLabs, a leading innovator in automated simulation technologies for AI systems.

SydeLabs, founded less than a year ago by former Google employees, developed SydeBox, an AI-powered tool that transforms red teaming—a critical process where developers and security experts rigorously test AI models for vulnerabilities.

By automating red teaming, SydeLabs allows customers to quickly and efficiently identify and address weaknesses in generative AI systems, including large language models. This acquisition will strengthen Protect AI’s teams in Seattle and Berlin.

“Protect AI is committed to advancing our AI security posture management platform to help our customers build a safer AI-powered world,” said Ian Swanson, Protect AI’s CEO. “Acquiring SydeLabs enhances our platform with unparalleled red teaming capabilities, enabling customers to stress test, benchmark, and secure their large language models against potential threats.”

SydeLabs’ SydeBox platform will be integrated into Protect AI’s platform under the new brand name Protect AI Recon. Recon users will benefit from tools that identify vulnerabilities in enterprise-grade AI models, featuring no-code integration, model-agnostic scanning, and comprehensive threat profiling against various attack vectors like prompt injection and input manipulation, empowering businesses to effectively evaluate and secure their generative AI systems.
